If your child, teen, or adult self is struggling at school, work, or in daily life, a psychoeducational assessment can clarify learning needs and next steps.
At Parallel Wellness, we offer timely, compassionate assessments with person-first care and no wait list right now.
Our goal is to help you understand strengths, barriers, and supports so learning feels more manageable and confidence grows.
We structure assessments with an intake interview, multiple in-person testing sessions, and a feedback meeting to review results and recommendations. This step-by-step process keeps families informed and supported throughout.
A psychoeducational assessment explores how someone learns and processes information, looking at cognitive abilities, academic skills, and related factors (e.g., attention, memory).
It can identify learning differences such as dyslexia or other specific learning disorders, and may also clarify ADHD or giftedness for educational planning and accommodations.
We work with children, teens, and adults seeking clarity about reading, writing, or math challenges; attention and executive functioning; and overall learning profiles.
Assessments can inform Individual Education Plans (IEP), post-secondary accommodations, or workplace support strategies.
If your main question is ADHD, we’ll guide you to our dedicated
ADHD Assessment page for detailed information and booking.
Your assessment typically includes: a detailed intake interview; standardized testing of cognitive abilities and academic achievement; questionnaires or collateral information (e.g., teacher forms, when helpful); and observations of learning approaches.
The process concludes with a collaborative feedback session to discuss results and a tailored plan to support you or your child's learning or work functioning goals.
This format helps connect test findings to everyday skills, and it supports clear next steps for home, school, and community settings.
You’ll receive a clear, plain-language report summarizing strengths, needs, and diagnoses when applicable, alongside actionable recommendations. These may include classroom strategies, study tools, referrals, and documentation you can use to request accommodations at school or in post-secondary settings.
We review all results with you, answer questions, and outline a practical plan so you can move forward with confidence.
Parallel Wellness blends evidence-based assessment with a supportive, HAES-aligned, and trauma-informed lens. We centre dignity, cultural responsiveness, and accessibility, and we collaborate closely with parents/caregivers or support teams as appropriate.
Our approach mirrors leading clinics’ multi-appointment structures while personalizing each step to your goals.
Right now, there is no wait time for psychoeducational assessments at Parallel Wellness, so you can get answers and a plan promptly.
Psychoeducational assessments are a comprehensive service. Some extended health plans may provide partial coverage for portions of the process. We’re happy to provide invoices and guidance you can use when requesting support from schools or workplaces. (Accommodation requests often rely on the formal report and recommendations.)
