Affordable, low cost counselling services—because your mental health shouldn’t have to wait

BOOK YOUR LOW COST COUNSELLING SESSION

We know professional counselling services are expensive—and especially if you don’t have health benefits or have other priorities that require your attention.

But remember when we said that we’re committed to supporting our neighbours and our community?

It’s time to put your mental health first so you can find relief and start thriving

At Parallel Wellness, we believe counselling should be available to anyone who needs support. That people deserve a safe place to be vulnerable, explore and get clarity, regardless of their financial situation.

It’s why we’re committed to offering a financially flexible counselling option to help you get to the root of your concerns, build coping skills and resilience and experience less stress.

It’s not a free trial period to only be asked to pay full price later.
You will not sacrifice the quality or quantity of your counselling.

This isn't a waitlist you sit on for months on end.

Starting at $50, you can book a 50-minute session and receive professional counselling from one of our masters-level interns, supervised by Parallel Wellness Founder Meredith MacKenzie.

Alleah has been with Parallel Wellness since 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan and a Master’s of Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy degree from Adler University.

Alleah specializes in Art Therapy that uses art to facilitate communication, insight, and self expression. Having prior art experience is not necessary because the focus in session is on the process of creating art and exploring what comes up, rather than on the final art product.

Other modalities called upon during sessions include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a branch of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, that uses mindfulness to help support clients in living a meaningful life in line with their values.

Alleah works with adults and can support clients in the following areas:

Do I get to choose which counsellor I’d like to work with?

Masters-level counsellors receive consistent supervision from an experienced registered clinical counsellor. We will assess and discuss with you if we believe you would benefit from a more experienced clinician. We can also provide you with referral options in the community or discuss the available sliding scale cost options with Parallel Wellness.

What if I need more support than a masters-level intern counsellor can’t provide?

Unfortunately, no counselling by unregistered clinical counsellors is not typically covered by insurance.
