Registered Clinical Counsellor &

Mindfulness-Based Trauma Therapist

Hi, I’m Renu!  I am an experienced counsellor with 7 years of experience. I am most interested in relationships. I do both individual and couples counselling.

I am passionate about guiding my clients through relationship issues, whether it be relationships with others, the world, or life purpose. We are relational beings, so it makes sense that we solve our problems by examining our relational wounds. Are you struggling with any of the following?:

  • Having repetitive issues come up with your partner, family, friends, or any other relationships
  • Difficulty breaking patterns in relationships
  • Feeling alone or abandoned by others
  • Having difficulty being close to others or being overwhelmed in relationships
  • Heavy or uncontrollable emotions, such as anger and fear that arise in your relationships with family, partners, colleagues or any loved ones
  • Feeling blocked in certain areas of your life, whether it be work, relationships, money, etc.

My training includes mindfulness-based somatic therapy, which specializes in working with the mind and body to surface and heal unconscious wounds that keep you locked in negative patterns. I also can help with low self-esteem, identity issues, anxiety, addiction,  feelings of loneliness/emptiness and confusion about life choices and purpose

Our unconscious makes up 95% of our mind and informs how we interact with the issues that come up as we cope with daily life. If unprocessed and unconscious wounds are running the show, they can leave us feeling alone with a personal story that keeps us trapped and powerless. I can support you in safely engaging with those wounds so that they can be expressed and released. The result is to feel more resilient, whole, and embodied. I will explore with you how this embodiment may contribute to healthier relationships and a new story about yourself, and how you will then begin to see changes in your external reality.

Therapy is always compassion-focused and client-centered, and from the moment you begin your first session, I will aim to attune to your needs. Feelings of safety and trust are key in building a therapeutic relationship. This safety will be cultivated through deep empathetic listening, compassion, and openness to various worldviews.

I am also a meditation teacher/spiritual counsellor, and Reiki Master, and am able to address spiritual health as an integral part of well-being if the client wishes to explore this in sessions. I am also a writer and have a background in theatre and teaching, so I have a passion for working with the body to address creative blocks.
